Upscale retail deal

SOUTHLAKE — The developer of a 550-acre mixed-used project along the north side of State Highway 114 has announced a deal with Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. to turn 23 acres into an "upscale retail" center.

Dallas-based Terrabrook, which is developing Aventerra in Southlake, signed a contract in January to sell land at the northeast corner of White Chapel Boulevard and S.H. 114 to Lincoln by the third quarter.

The retail development could open by this time next year, when construction along that stretch of S.H. 114 is due to be completed, said Rick Croteau, Terrabrook's vice president and general manager of Aventerra.

In addition to a contemplated single-famly residential component, Croteau said he is talking with another Dallas-based developer to put additional retail on another 23-acre site at the northeast corner of Dove Road and S.H. 114.
